The role

Head of Client Services

Bond is looking for a Head of Client Services to lead our Boston client portfolio. You’ll own the experience our clients receive, the commercial health of their accounts, and the development of the teams delivering the work. Done well, you’ll turn strong account delivery into portfolio-wide excellence, and make Bond a trusted strategic partner to senior client stakeholders.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of consultants, managing delivery across clients while building trusted relationships at every level, from hiring managers to C-suite stakeholders.

You’ll be a true strategic consultant to our partners, collaborating to solve their complex TA problems and support them in achieving their goals.

You’ll also represent Bond by delivering the 5 stage talent theory, workshops, training, and sharing thought leadership via both formal and informal client syncs.

What you’ll do

Lead, coach and develop the Boston team and client portfolio.

Lead teams and manage with empathy and authenticity.

Own portfolio revenue, margin and renewal strategy.

Set delivery standards and playbooks, stepping in on the largest accounts.

Use data and reporting to spot risks and growth opportunities.

Hold C level relationships and become a strategic consultant to them.

Identify and close account growth opportunities, including cross-sell of Bond’s wider services.

Be able to pitch Bond’s embedded services to new stakeholders with credibility.

Be accountable for ensuring that all new projects are onboarded to a high standard.

Always be seeking opportunities to continuously improve and iterate.

What you’ll bring

  • A proven leader, you’ve already got experience of motivating and leading a team.
  • You have experience running multiple client accounts to a high standard, ideally in a staffing firm, RPO or a consultancy.
  • A track record of owning commercial outcomes: revenue, margin or renewals.
  • Confidence leading senior client conversations and influencing stakeholders, not just delivering to brief.
  • Strong data fluency: comfortable reading a portfolio dashboard and acting on what it shows.
  • Strategic thinker. You bring hiring insights and market intelligence that influence client roadmaps and C-level decisions.
  • Willingness to make the tough call when standards or commercial discipline are on the line.

Who you’ll work with

  • Cross-collaboration with Managing Partners & Managing Directors.
  • Global Talent Operations team.
  • You’ll lead a team of multi-level, multidisciplinary consultants embedded across your client portfolio.

Christina Harris, Managing Partner — the seat this role is coached towards

The interview

The interview process

Four steps. You’ll know who you’re meeting and why, at every one.

Informal intro

30 minutes

When we say informal we mean it.

This will be a high level chat for 30 minutes to get to know each other better.

We will be looking to make sure the role basics seem to align from a high level and both parties want to invest more time together.

Interview

Remote · Managing Partner, COO and Founder · 1 hour

This 1 hour interview will still take an informal approach as we want to get to know the real human. This is very important to us @ Bond so please bring the real you!!!

Exercise

Remote · Managing Partner and CRO · 30 minutes

A 30 minute exercise is to see how your brain works when trying to evaluate a TA function. These are designed to be great fun and will give a window into the consulting work we do with clients every day.

In person experience

In Person · Founder and/or Managing Partner · All expenses paid

This will be designed around the person and the availability of the senior team.

We really like to get to know the real human so this could take format of something like:

Head to Fenway or TD Garden and catch a game together.

Go for dinner and we may invite a client or board members to join us.

Fly into London and have dinner with Founders.

What we’re looking for, at every step

The same four things, whoever you’re talking to. If we say no, this is the language we’ll use to tell you why.

Commercial ownership

A track record of owning revenue, margin or renewals, and making the tough call when discipline is on the line.

Senior-stakeholder influence

Leading C-level conversations and shaping client decisions, not just delivering to brief.

Team leadership

Motivating and developing consultants, with empathy and authenticity, at multiple levels at once.

Data fluency

Reading a portfolio dashboard, spotting the risk or the opportunity, and acting on it.

“Stay clear-eyed on our mission to build the biggest and best TA function out there, without compromising on the human aspects that have always made Bond who we are. This means regardless of how fast we move and big we get, the bar for our people stays high, and the way we treat them stays just as high. Growth always comes with teething and bumps along the way, so I’ll promise to lead with authenticity and transparency, and in return, I’ll expect Team US to rise to the occasion, constantly raise the bar, pivot and be agile along the journey, assume positive intent, and to bring the best of themselves to their team everyday.”

AI in the process

AI in the process: ours and yours

We’re upfront about where we use AI, where we don’t, and where you’re welcome to use it too.

Where we use AI

  • Consented notetakingA notetaker joins interviews so the panel can look you in the eye instead of typing. You’ll see it in the call. Ask us to turn it off anytime.
  • Debrief summariesAI drafts a first-pass summary for the hiring team. Humans read it critically and overwrite it before any decision.
  • Research and preparationWe use AI to prepare properly for you: your background, your questions, your time respected.

Where you can use AI

  • Prep & researchUse Claude, ChatGPT, whatever helps: draft answers, pressure-test stories, research us. It’s how we work too.
  • The exerciseUse every tool you’d use on the job. This is a window into how we consult with clients every day, and AI is part of how we work.
  • Better questions for usUse AI to generate questions for our founders. The best questions are the hard ones. Bring them.
Where we don’t use AI

No AI ever makes the final decisions. Humans do, on the record.

No AI personality scoring or culture-fit assessments.

No AI summaries acted on without a human first reading and editing them.

Where we ask you not to use AI

In live conversations we’d rather hear your own thinking. Save the AI tools for prep and the exercise.

Come as you are. The process works best on real examples, and that’s all we’ll ask about.

Embedded Talent is the future and @Bond we are setting the standard.

This is how we work too.Book a call
No surprises

Our promise to you

Things we won’t do. Things you can hold us to.

✕

We won’t ghost you

You’ll hear from us after every step, with a clear answer on what happens next.

✕

We won’t ask brain-teaser questions

Nothing that doesn’t reflect what this job actually is. The exercise is real consulting work, and it’s designed to be fun.

✕

We won’t surprise you on compensation

We’ll talk it through properly in step 1, not as a surprise at offer.

✕

We won’t hide behind ‘culture fit’

If we say no, we’ll tell you what was missing. Specifically. No vague reasons.

✕

We won’t waste your time

Four steps, each with a purpose, each with the people who actually make the decision in the room.

✕

We won’t pressure-close you

Take the offer home. Sleep on it. Ask for another conversation. We want a yes you mean, not a yes you regret.

Ready when you are

What happens next

If you like what you’ve read, get in touch and we’ll take it from there. No pressure, no hard sell. Just a conversation to see if there’s a fit.
